Medical, AI and Future
Medical AI represents the future of healthcare, where AI and medicine are combined to create smarter, faster, and more personalized care in hospitals and in daily life. As technology continues to advance, artificial intelligence plays an increasingly important role in diagnosis, treatment planning, medical research, and patient support. Understanding medical AI today helps society prepare for a future where health care is more efficient, accessible, and innovative, while also encouraging thoughtful discussions about person-centered care.
Who, What and Why?
As grade 11 students who genuinly live in this community, by volunteering at different places and positions, we figured out that neither us nor the public have sufficient knowledge into Medical AI. We believe it would be essential for the public living in 21st century, to recognize and acknowledge the huge effects brought by the innovation of Medical AI, since the invention of Large Language model AI has branched into multiple specific fields including Medicine and caused enormous changes.
As highschoolers who eager to shine brightly in Medical Field in the future, we determined to self study knowledge of Medical AI, write summary essays with high-school level analysis, to build a beginner-friendly platform for which people in all level and age range have a more convenient way to engage in Medical AI study.
As an extension of this platform, we also plan to hold multiple information sharing sessions at the Coquitlam Public Library, inviting multiple professionals to share their thoughts to the public. These sessions are broadly facing teenagers (explore career interest), middle-aged, and elderly people (acknowledge current effects Medical AI has brought into Healthcare service), but people of all age range will be welcomed.
A school club named Med AI Future will also be held in our Grade 12 years in Pinetree Secondary School.
We are a non-profit group sharing knowledge about medical science and artificial intelligence through education, discussion, and community engagement. Healthcare is changing rapidly because of AI, but many people don't understand how it works, we may feel unconfident, confused, or even scared about it. Ethical, safe, and informed discussion is needed. Our most important mission is to make education accessible to everyone in different age groups.
